The Blossom Experience

The BLOSSOM Girls Program is a dynamic after-school initiative dedicated to empowering young women from Baltimore City, attending middle and high school. Our program, held at Cristo Rey Jesuit High School, meets three times a week to foster mentorship, personal growth, and community service, culminating in exciting events and showcases throughout the school year.

Program Structure and Activities

Big Sister/Little Sister Mentorship

Our mentorship program pairs middle and high school students with college mentors, creating a strong network of guidance and support. This structure mirrors an organization, featuring an executive board with roles such as website manager, captain, co-captain, and social media manager. Students can also earn service hours by assisting with various activities, including stage production.

Community Engagement and Fundraising

  • Community Service Opportunities: Students participate in activities like food drives and volunteering, emphasizing the importance of contributing to the community.

  • Fundraising Initiatives: We organize fundraising events to support our activities, fostering a sense of ownership among participants.

Educational and Enrichment

  • University Visits: A visit to Towson University offers students a glimpse into college life and future opportunities.

  • Events:
    • Christmas Showcase: A festive celebration where students display their talents and creativity, highlighting the spirit of the season.

    • Annual Spring Fashion Show: The grand finale of the year, showcasing students' creativity and style as they design and model their outfits.
